    The general objective of this research work was to strengthen critical thinking skills through Socratic questions in students in the 6th grade "C" of Primary Education at the I.E. Paola Frassinetti fe y Alegria 45 Paucarpata, Arequipa. 2021. The methodology used was the qualitative approach with the design of action research. The instruments used were an interview, an evaluation rubric and a field diary. We worked with a sample of 29 children between 11 and 12 years of age. The results obtained corresponded to the improvement of critical thinking skills developed by the students, such as the ability to argue, they were able to assume a position and build their arguments using reliable information, however they show difficulty in arguing the reasons for the position taken, in relation to the ability to analyse information they were able to extract main and secondary ideas from the texts and determine causes of problems they dominate, With regard to the ability to infer implications, students were able to anticipate scenarios, establish relationships between the facts and subjects of the situations they analysed and establish consequences, they did so in thought organisers, and in the ability to propose alternative solutions, they considered their context and their possibilities for proposing such alternatives.
