COAGUILA ALMIRON Lady DianaVILCA QUISPE Maryory Esthefany2024-04-192024-04-192024-04-19https://repositorio.ispa.edu.pe/handle/123456789/364This research work aims to strengthen the competency "Solves quantity problems" in 3- year-old students at Educational Institution 40694 Camineros Empleados, using the ABP method. It employs a qualitative approach with an action research design. Specific objectives include improving cognitive skills in numerical expressions, enhancing understanding of numbers and operations, developing estimation and calculation strategies, and evaluating the impact of the ABP method on this competency. A problem was identified in the mathematics area, where children have difficulty manipulating and exploring objects to establish relationships, compare, and use quantifiers of quantity, weight, and time. To address this issue, an action plan was implemented that included twenty learning activities and various instruments such as assessment rubrics, field diaries, and interviews. At the end of the action plan, the results were analyzed, and it was observed that there was a strengthening in the competency "Solves quantity problems" in the children. These findings suggest the effectiveness of the ABP method in improving mathematical skills in young students. Key words: Solve quantity problems, PBL method.
