Resumen
The present research “Strengthening the resolution of quantity problems through the
Singapore method in students of the second B of primary education, Arequipa 2023”, has the
general objective of strengthening the competence to solve quantity problems through the
Singapore methodology. The methodology used is the qualitative approach inquiry with The
action research design, the population is 250 primary school students, taking as a sample 29
students ranging from 7 to 8 years old. The results regarding the application of the Singapore
method in problem solving are positive due to the use of strategies applied with the help of
concrete material, in the ability to translate quantities into numerical expressions, it was
possible to understand the problem through questions and cross-questioning, in the ability to
Communicate their understanding of numbers and operations, they managed to communicate
in a numerical language, the ability to Use estimation and calculation strategies and procedures,
they use various strategies such as egg java, a calendar, the store so that they can compare in
an experiential way, in the ability to argue statements about numerical relationships and
operations, they assume a position to explain step by step, deepening their ideas, because they
mention the strategies or materials they have used to solve a problem. It is concluded that the
methodology of the Singapore method positively favors the improvement of children's
competence in solving quantity problems.
